Gjelina Hotel is a hotel, guest house, and event space from the Gjelina Group, located one block from the Boardwalk and Beach in Venice, CA.
Inspired by the personalized hospitality of private hotels and the purposeful utility of traditional boarding houses, our residence-like rooms and suites are designed for finding a home away from home in our neighborhood.

Bags can be held by the front desk for no more than four hours prior to or post-departure.
Reservations must be canceled or modified 24 hours prior to check-in time (3pm PST). Any changes made after this window will incur a fee of the first night's room rate plus tax.
Keep in mind we are in the heart of Venice, which we love. You should expect there to be noise, as we are in a bustling area
While we have no dedicated parking, street parking is available on Rose Ave and Navy Street (please review signs for street sweeping guidelines). Local paid lots are available at 109 Rose Ave., 116 Rose Ave., and 605 Speedway.
The Courtyard
All guests are welcome to make use of our lobby and downstairs courtyard.
The Rooftop Terrace
The Rooftop Terrace: Access to our second floor terrace is reserved for 2nd floor suites (Rooms #21- 26). Guests staying in all first floor suites and small guest rooms (#1-20) are welcome to share the courtyard space situated on the ground floor.
Lobby
Guests are welcome to work from the communal table in the Lobby. The Lobby also offers board games and a library of books to enjoy while you’re here.
We are a dog-friendly property. (Sorry, no cats). Dogs must stay with guests on property and may not be left alone in rooms. Our pet fee is $350 (1-3 nights) or $700 (7 nights or longer); a portion of pet fees are donated to Heart LA, an organization working to keep unhoused individuals together with their pets.
Gjelina Group creates hospitality experiences delivered from a place of purpose, with simplicity. Named for founder Fran Camaj’s mother, Gjelina opened on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in 2008, serving locally-sourced, produce-forward food and becoming a staple in the Venice community. Since then, our businesses have evolved with our neighborhood — with our menus guided by conversations and long-standing relationships with Southern California farmers, local ranchers, fishermen, and co-ops.
Our Rose Avenue location is just one block from Venice Beach and boardwalk, and a short walk to Venice’s many options for dining, shopping, and exploring — including our neighborhood restaurant Gjelina and Gjelina Take way (1 mile away), our all-day bakery & cafe Gjusta and Gjusta Goods/Flower Shop (0.4 mile away), and our market Gjusta Grocer (0.8 miles away).

The Gjelina Group is grounded in family. Our story begins with Gjelina, named for founder Fran Camaj’s mother. Our bakery and cafe, Gjusta, pays homage to Gjelina's sister. As you explore our property, you'll discover nods to a third sister, Vitorrja (pronounced Vi-tore-ya). Vitorrja's essence—strong, honest, deliberate, and practical—became our guiding light, and we’ve woven that spirit throughout the hotel, inspiring us to create a space that felt like coming home.

Guests Policy
No guests are allowed other than those staying on property. Guests must be 21 and over to book a room.
Photo Policy
Photoshoots are not allowed without permission. Learn more about renting the property or a room for photoshoots here.
Smoking Policy
There is no smoking or vaping of any kind allowed, inside or outside within the property boundaries. Smoking or vaping violations will incur a $2000 fine.
Additional House Rules
No parties or events allowed unless booked through Gjelina Group Events Department.
No loud noise after 10pm.
No illegal substances are allowed on the premises
Room Charges
During your stay, you are welcome to charge any Gjelina Group purchases to your room. After check out, we will charge your card with any final balance owed.
Hold Charges
Upon check in, we place an authorization hold on your credit card for any balance due on the reservation, plus $100 for incidental expenses. By staying at Gjelina Hotel you authorize us to charge your card for any property damage or loss incurred during your stay. This hold will be released following check out.
Taxes & Fees
Room rates are subject to Los Angeles County Lodging Tax of 14.00%.
Additional Charges
The following are potential additional charges which will be billed to your final guest folio if discovered at time of checkout:

- Deep cleaning following any major incidents
- Furniture and rug repairs
- Replacing any damaged or missing china, glass, silverware, textiles, kettle, French press, cookware
